Malawi is located in south-eastern Africa between latitudes 9 and 17 degrees south of the Equator, and between longitudes 32 and 35 degrees east. It is bordered by Tanzania to the north and northeast, Zambia to the northwest and Mozambique to the southeast, south and southwest. In terms of shape, Malawi is a narrow strip of land west of Lake Malawi. Due to its shape, Malawi has different physical and climatic features.
