MALAWI'S TOURISM OFFERING PROMOTED ON HAINAN TV

His Excellency Allan Joseph Chintedza, Malawi Ambassador to the Republic of China attended a China media interview with Hainan TV for its Connections TV Programme at which brief and concise highlights were discussed on Malawi's tourism destinations, cichlids, bird varieties, cultural diversities and festival activities and the Chongoni Rock Art.

The Ambassador provided a synopsis on why Malawi is called, the "Warm Heart of Africa" and the uniqueness of its cultural diversity, festivals and dances; characteristics of special cichlids in Lake Malawi; and the variety of birds and their local names including the African fish eagle which is also Malawi's national bird and symbol. In addition, the Ambassador expounded further on the unique origins of the Chongoni Rock Art that dates back to the stone age depicting the agricultural and animal husbandry practices of the early Chewa tribesmen and Batwa pygmies as early settlers, in Dedza district in Malawi.
