PRESENTATION OF LETTERS OF CREDENCE BY HIS EXCELLENCY ALLAN JOSEPH CHINTEDZA TO THE PRESIDENT OF SINGAPORE, 13TH DECEMBER, 2022
His  Excellency Allan Joseph Chintedza presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore as a non-residential High Commissioner of the Republic of Malawi to the Republic of Singapore on 13th December, 2022. Following the presentation of the Letters of Credence, High Commissioner Chintedza paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Halimah Yacob, President of Singapore.  During the call, High Commissioner Chintedza conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi, the government and the people of Malawi to the President, the government and the people of Singapore. During the ceremony, the High Commissioner observed that Singapore is a shining example for many developing nations citing the strides that Singapore has registered over the years such as political stability, low corruption and transparent public institutions. The High Commissioner also informed the President about the Malawi Vision 2063, which the Malawi Government is implementing in order to make Malawi an inclusively wealthy and self-reliant industrialized upper-middle income country by the year 2063.  He also indicated that Malawi has a lot to learn from Singapore in order to effectively implement this Vision 2063. The President of Singapore hailed the cordial bilateral relations existing between Malawi and Singapore which she said are rooted in the heritage of both countries being members of the Commonwealth. The President also commended the Malawi vision 2063 as the right developmental path to follow. She particularly mentioned industrialisation as a key element for Malawi to develop and attain the status that it intends to achieve by 2063.  She assured the Malawi High Commissioner that Singapore will continue to help Malawi in order to achieve its developmental goals through the provision of training and technical assistance. The President of Singapore conveyed her greetings to His Excellency Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi. The Malawi Embassy in Beijing is also accredited to Singapore on non-residential basis.
